Fit Notes for Western Foot Shapes

Understanding how our shoes are constructed helps you make informed buying decisions and advise your customers confidently.

Last Design for Western Feet

Our lasts (shoe forms) are designed with a slightly wider toe box and a narrower heel profile to suit European and North American foot shapes. Unlike many Asian-market shoes that run narrow, our standard width accommodates the typical Western foot comfortably.

Width Options

Standard width (B–C / medium) is our default across all styles. We offer wide-fit (D–E) options in our Wide Fit Friendly collection. If your market requires narrow or extra-wide fittings, contact us about custom width development for volume orders.

Heel-to-Toe Drop & Arch Support

Most flats have a 4–8mm heel-to-toe drop for natural gait. Heels range from 3cm kitten to 11cm stiletto. Our comfort and wide-fit collections include enhanced arch support and padded footbeds designed for all-day wear.

Material Stretch & Break-In

Genuine leather styles will stretch slightly with wear — approximately 2–3mm in width over the first 5–10 wears. Synthetic and patent leathers have minimal give. If a customer is between sizes, we generally recommend sizing up for closed-toe styles and true-to-size for open-toe sandals.

How to Measure Foot Size

Share this simple 5-step guide with your customers or use it to measure sample fits in-store. All you need is paper, a pen, and a ruler.

1

Prepare

Place a blank sheet of paper on a hard, flat floor against a wall. Wear the type of socks you would normally wear with the shoe.

2

Trace

Stand with your heel against the wall and your full weight on the foot. Have someone trace the outline of your foot holding the pen vertically.

3

Measure Length

Measure the distance from the heel edge to the tip of the longest toe. Use this measurement (in cm) to find your EU size in our chart above.

4

Measure Width

Measure the widest part of your foot (across the ball). Compare this to our width chart. If your width measurement is 9.5cm+ (for size 38), consider our Wide Fit collection.

5

Repeat

Measure both feet — they are rarely identical. Use the larger foot's measurements to determine your size. Measure in the afternoon when feet are slightly expanded.

Size & Fit FAQ

Do NIZOWI shoes run true to size?

Yes, our shoes are designed on European lasts and generally run true to EU size. For US and UK buyers, we recommend using the conversion chart above. Our standard width fits the typical Western foot comfortably. If your customers frequently find Asian-made shoes too narrow, they should find our standard width a good fit, or explore our Wide Fit Friendly collection for additional room.

What if my customer is between two sizes?

For closed-toe styles (pumps, boots, flats), we recommend sizing up — you can always add an insole to fill extra volume. For open-toe styles (sandals, slides, peep-toes), true-to-size usually works best since the foot can extend slightly beyond the sole edge without discomfort. If in doubt, order both sizes as samples to compare before placing your bulk order.

Do you offer half sizes?

We produce in full EU sizes (35–43) as standard. Half-size production is available for volume orders (500+ pairs per style). For low and standard MOQ orders, we recommend adjusting with insoles or selecting the next size up for closed styles.

Can you provide size breakdown recommendations for my market?

Absolutely. After working with hundreds of boutiques across 60+ countries, we have extensive data on regional size distributions. When you inquire, tell us your target market (country/region) and we will recommend a size curve — for example, a typical Western European order might be: 36 (10%), 37 (20%), 38 (25%), 39 (20%), 40 (15%), 41 (10%). This helps you avoid dead stock and maximize sell-through.
